## How to Mark a Shift as Not Required

This guide explains how to mark a shift as not required on the Live Rota, record the reason, display hidden not required shifts, and reassign them if necessary.

#### Introduction

The Live Rota allows you to mark shifts as no longer required without deleting them. This keeps an audit trail while giving you the option to display and reassign those shifts if circumstances change.

**In this guide you'll learn how to:**

- Mark a shift as not required
- Record a reason for the change
- Display hidden not required shifts
- View and reassign not required shifts if needed

#### Open the Live Rota.

#### Select the information icon for the shift you want to update.

#### Select *Mark as Not Required*.

#### Enter a reason for marking the shift as not required.

#### Select *Add Reason* to save the change.

#### Open the *Display Options* menu.

#### Disable *Hide Not Required* to display not required shifts.

#### View the not required shift and reassign it if required.

#### Top tip

Not required shifts are hidden by default. If you need to review or reassign one later, disable the Hide Not Required option in Display Options.
