Exporting & Importing a Risk Assessment – Care Control Learning Hub

Exporting & Importing
a Risk Assessment

This guide will cover how to export and import a risk assessment on Care Control Windows. This can be useful if you wish to re-use a risk assessment across multiple sites in your organisation.

1

In the Administration of Care Control Windows, navigate to the Generic Risk Assessments tool, which can be found under the Care Planning tab.

2

To export a risk assessment on your system, begin by selecting it from the drop-down list.

3

Then, press Export.

4

Your computers file explorer will open.

We recommend saving the export in the folder which opens automatically. We also recommend leaving the file name as the one already given – Risk1.

Press Save.

5

You will receive a confirmation message in Care Control that the export has been successful.

If an error message appears at this stage, make sure you are saving the file in the folder which opens when you press ‘Export’ – see Step 4-5.

6

To import a risk assessment, press Add New in the Generic Risk Assessments tool.

7

A new window will open. Here, enter a name for your new risk assessment, then, press Browse.

8

Your file explorer will open.

If you are on the same computer as when you exported a risk assessment, the right folder will open automatically and your file will be here.

Simply find the file and press Open.

9

A file path will populate in the ‘Use a Risk Template File‘.

Press Continue.

10

You will receive a confirmation message that the Risk Assessment has been imported successfully.

If an error message appears at this stage, make sure your are importing the ‘Risk1’ file from the folder which opens when you press ‘Browse’ – see Step 7-8.

11

You can now edit the the assessment if necessary and assign it to the relevant service users.
