'Seeing In' Medication Stock
The term ‘seeing in’ is used when counting medication stock deliveries. This guide covers some tips we have to make this easier.
Carry Over
Don’t forget to add on and carry over any extra medication needed to last until the Monday or start of the new medication month.
For example, if a stock delivery came in on Thursday, medication would need to be carried over for Thursday Dinner & Nighttime andall Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Do not add on any medication that will be going into the disposal as this will be counted when disposal is completed.
Eye Drop Stock
A 5ml bottle = 100 doses
A 3ml bottle = 60 doses
To ensure you have enough an example would be:
You are seeing in the medication on a Friday, and someone has 2 eyedrops a night.
So…
2 X 28(days of the month) = 56 + 6 doses (Friday, Saturday & Sunday) = 62 doses needed in total.
Liquid Stock
5ml x ONCE a day = 5 x 28 (month) = 140ml needed for month

10ml x TWICE a day = 10 X 2 (=20ml) x 28 (month)= 560ml needed for month
10ml x THREE a day = 10 x 3 (=30ml) x 28(month) = 840ml needed for month
10ml x FOUR a day = 10 x 4 (=40ml) x 28(month) = 1120ml needed for month
