Installing the VPN Client

  1. Visit the official OpenVPN website by following this link: OpenVPN Download
  2. Download the latest stable version for Windows 64-Bit Operating system. This will be called “Windows 64-Bit MSI Installer”. We do not recommend installing a version with “Alpha” at the end of it as we cannot guarantee the compatibility.
  3. Once the file has downloaded, run the installer and accept all default options.
  4. Once installation is complete restart your computer if prompted.

Adding your VPN Configuration File

  1. Open your File Explorer and navigate to “C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\Config”
  2. Copy the “carecontrol.ovpn” which you should have received into this folder.

Note: You may be prompted for Admin permissions, if so, select Continue.

Connecting to the VPN

  1. After your computer restarts, find the OpenVPN GUI icon in the system tray (bottom right of your screen). It looks like a grey computer screen.
  2. Right-click the icon and then click Connect.
  3. A connection window will open. After a few moments it should show “Initialisation Sequence Completed”.

You can ensure you are connected by checking the icon again, this time it should be green.
