How to Allocate a shift on Cloud Roster

This guide explains how to create and assign shifts within the Roster app, from accessing the draft rota to allocating shifts to staff members.

Using this process helps improve efficiency, prevents missed or incorrect allocations, and ensures consistency across your scheduling workflow.

Open the Roster app to access scheduling features

Select the calendar icon to open the weekly rota view

Open the Draft Plan to review and edit upcoming shifts

Click the plus icon on a row to create a new shift assignment

Open More Options to configure additional shift settings

Select a shift template or create a new shift as required

Enable Allocation to assign the shift to a person or group

Select the allocation type such as Service User, CSG, or Allocation Group

Choose the specific person or group to assign the shift to

Save changes to apply the shift and update the rota

Open additional options using the three-dot menu

Select Assign to Staff Member to allocate the shift

Select a staff member from the list

Confirm the assignment to finalise the shift allocation

Review the updated rota to confirm all changes
