Care Control is moving forward with Cloud.
As part of this transition, Care Control Windows will be retired on 31 December 2026. There’s still plenty of time to prepare, and throughout the coming months we’ll be helping customers make the move with practical guidance, webinars and resources.
For many customers, this isn’t about starting again or changing to a completely different care system. It’s about moving more of the Care Control tools and workflows you already rely on into a platform that is easier to access, manage and continue improving over time.
Why are we moving to Cloud?
Care Control Windows has supported customers for many years, but Cloud gives us a better platform to keep Care Control moving forward.
Rather than continuing to rely on a traditional desktop application, Cloud provides a more modern way to access and manage Care Control, while giving us greater flexibility to continue introducing improvements, new features and updated ways of working.
The aim is simple: to make Care Control easier to use day to day, while giving your organisation a platform that can continue developing alongside your needs.
Easier access through Care Control Gateway
One of the biggest changes is how your team accesses Care Control.
Care Control Gateway provides the secure desktop route into Care Control Cloud. Devices can be registered to your organisation, while staff continue to access Care Control using the sign-in route appropriate to them.
Gateway supports both shared computers and individual devices, helping organisations set up access around the way their teams actually work.
For staff, the experience remains straightforward: open Gateway, sign in and access the areas of Care Control available to their role. The move is designed to make access more controlled without making everyday use more complicated.
Find what you need more easily
As you begin using Cloud, you’ll also find tools designed to make everyday navigation simpler.
Search helps you get to the area you need without having to remember exactly where everything sits, while Favourites let you keep the pages you use regularly close at hand.
Access can also be structured around different roles and responsibilities, helping users focus on the parts of Care Control they actually need for their job.
It means Cloud can become more familiar over time as each person builds a way of working that suits them.
Improvements can keep coming to Cloud
Moving to Cloud also gives us a better way to continue improving Care Control.
New functionality, fixes and enhancements can be made available through Cloud without customers needing to manage the same kind of desktop software updates themselves.
We’re also continuing to bring familiar Care Control functionality into Cloud, while improving areas of the platform as they move across.
The goal isn’t simply to recreate Windows somewhere else. It’s to keep developing Care Control into a clearer and more useful experience for the future.
You don’t need to move everything at once
We know that moving systems can feel like a big task, especially when Care Control is part of your organisation’s everyday work.
That’s why our advice is to start with the things that help you get moving.
Make sure the right people can access Cloud. Get your Gateway devices set up. Review your users and permissions. Then begin getting comfortable with the areas your team uses most often.
You don’t need everything to be perfect on day one. The important thing is to start building confidence with Cloud ahead of Windows being retired.
Throughout the campaign, you’ll have several routes available to you, including self-service guidance, our webinar programme and support from our teams if something is preventing you from moving forward.
Everything you need is in one place
To make the transition easier, we’ve created the Moving to Care Control Cloud Hub on the Care Control Learning Hub.
There you’ll find:
- Guidance to help you get started with Cloud
- Care Control Gateway setup information
- Step-by-step guides and useful resources
- Frequently asked questions
